
Fidesz votes against DK's proposal to allow abused spouses to immediately request restraining order
At the meeting of the Hungarian Parliament's Justice Committee, the governing Fidesz-KDNP majority voted against all proposals by the opposition party, Democratic Coalition (DK), including those related to early elections and protecting victims of domestic violence. The government, however, expressed commitment to declaring zero tolerance on violence against women and initiating comprehensive reforms to address the issue.
