The case of the murdered Japanese woman: five disciplinary proceedings opened by 5th district police, one department head removed

The Budapest Police launched an internal investigation into the case of a Japanese woman who was murdered after her complaints were ignored. Disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against five people at the Fifth District Police Headquarters. The police apologized for disrespectful communication and will increase sensitising training on domestic violence. Nationally, previously rejected complaints of domestic violence will be reviewed, cases will be given greater focus, and officers will work with specialist agencies.
