Tracing the bomb threats in Hungarian schools: all of Europe is targeted, generating panic and testing among likely goals
A coordinated operation involving mass bomb threats targeted NATO member states, including Hungary, to test countries' administrative systems. The threats, falsely claiming to be jihadist operations, caused disruptions in schools and other institutions across Europe. The operation, ongoing since spring 2024, appears to have a state actor behind it, possibly Russia, engaging in hybrid warfare. The threats, although false, have significant impacts on society, costing money, tying up resources, and causing panic.
